Software As A Service BBQ, and “Non-Boarding”
Not Onboarding… Non-Boarding.
The SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) Summer Barbecue (June 27th, 2019) was moved to a bigger space due to higher than anticipated demand for free cocktails and free grub on a balmy Summer evening in Ballsbridge. Who would have guessed?
Moreover, we came to listen to Ray Nolan of Xsellco. He was billed as a “legend”, a moniker he wryly combatted as a little “ageist”.
Ray promised “F words and a few nuggets”. He took to the floor “naked” following on from a well-received SaaStock presentation.
They revealed plans to bring the SaaS Conference back to Dublin this October 14-16 at the RDS with a special 40% discounted rate for Irish teams. The Conference is expected to bring together 4,000 founders, executives and investors and over 250 exhibitors for three days in the City for what is Europe’s largest SaaS-focused gathering. Confirmed speakers include senior representatives from Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom, Survey Monkey, Kabbage, among those participating in the exhibition.
But Back to Naked Ray…
I did leave you hanging with the thought of a naked Ray Nolan. Sincere apologies. Ray took to the floor fully clothed but with no more than a few jotted words and spoke freely for 45 minutes. He jumped from topic to topic giving candid views on everything from Customer Success teams and why everyone in SaaS needs them, ignoring Industry Standard pricing, adding and removing features, his vision of the near future in terms of consolidation, creating your own pool, branding and positioning and Non-Boarding. This is a term he coined himself. As he puts it:
“The process of allowing someone play around with your software without configuring, connecting, adding things or jumping through hoops.”
Vaguely referred to previously as clickaround, in essence as he put it, it’s about asking yourself as an app, how long is your user’s “time til Wow”, users self-demo’ing and getting them interacting immediately.
How this relates to Us:
Insofar as this model can be implemented for Users of our Mind My Business app, over the past few months, we have set about making the process of familiarising yourself with our system far more self-orientated with nudges in the right direction and tutorial videos in relevant places “In-App” and on our Support pages.
And we still offer a free online training session included in our small business accounts package for everyone and anyone that signs up, giving our customers the opportunity to explore alone or be guided. Drop us an email for more info.
We want Mind My Business to always be clear, concise and easy to understand. So with the exception of necessary bookkeeping terms, our entire philosophy is keep it simple and easy to read. No overly complicated explanations, no “jargon” or “management-speak”, plain easy to understand language, from the tutorial videos to the help pages and right through all Social Media platforms. We’re a friendly, approachable bunch and that’s exactly how we want to portray Mind My Business.
This cloud-based software can of course be accessed wherever you are, at home, at work or on the go, on a PC, laptop, tablet or on your phone. I’m delighted to offer new customers a free 30 day no commitment trial so that you can see for yourself how Mind My Business can help your business grow.
Best wishes,
Philipp & Team
